A Day in My Life as a working Mom | The Soulful Mam
1. Motherhood is beautiful, but it’s not always easy— especially when you’re trying to balance work, home, fitness, and personal goals. Here’s a little glimpse into my everyday routine as a working mom, trying to juggle it all with love and grace.
๐ My Day Begins at last night
Yes, you read that right! My day actually begins the night before. It completely depends on how my little champ sleeps. If he has a peaceful night, I wake up fresh and energetic. But if he’s restless, my sleep is disturbed, and it affects how my morning starts.
๐ 5:00 AM – A Fresh Start
I aim to wake up by 5:00 AM. My early morning rituals include some deep breathing, sipping warm water, and gathering myself for the day ahead. This quiet time is essential — a small slice of peace before the house wakes up. From 5:30 to 6:30 AM i used to pack lunch for me and my husband and a short breastfeed session for my baby.
๐ฉ๐ซ 6:30 AM – Leaving for Work
By 6:30 AM, I’m out of the house for my teaching job. Mornings are always a rush, but I try to keep things organized to avoid chaos. My heart stays at home with my baby, but my mind gears up for a productive day at school.
๐ก 1:00 PM – Back Home, Back to Mom Mode
I return home by 1 PM and the second shift of the day begins — mom life. I spend time with my baby, breastfeed him, and settle him for a nap. While he sleeps, I get started on lunch prep and some household work.
๐ฅ 2:30 PM – Lunch + Planning + Passion Time
After lunch, I sit for about an hour to work on my passion — blogging. Writing fills me with energy and gives me a creative outlet. I also use this time to plan meals, jot down ideas, or sometimes just unwind with a book.
๐งน 4:00 PM – Household Tasks + Baby Time
Even though I have help with cleaning and utensils, there’s always something that needs doing! I involve my baby wherever possible — singing while folding clothes or dancing while organizing the room. Little joys!
๐️♀️ 5:00 – 6:30 PM – Gym Time = Me Time
This is my non-negotiable fitness hour. I hit the gym for a good cardio or strength session, and it feels like a reset button for my body and mind. My husband or family looks after the baby during this time.
๐ 6:30 PM – Evening Play & Dinner Prep
Once I’m back, it’s all about spending quality time with my little one — playing, reading, or simply cuddling. I then prepare a light dinner for the family and feed the baby.
๐ 8:00 PM – Dinner + Wind Down
We try to have dinner together as a family, followed by some winding-down time. I finish any leftover tasks, and plan the next day quickly.
๐ด 9:00 PM – Lights Out
By 9 PM, I try to sleep — though, let’s be honest, with a toddler, it’s never that predictable. Some nights are peaceful, others not so much. But every day ends with gratitude — for health, love, and the chance to grow.
Why I Shared This
I’m not perfect — just a mom learning to balance life one day at a time. Sharing this routine is not about showing how much I do, but to connect with other moms who are navigating the same beautiful chaos. If you're in the same boat, I see you, and I’m with you.
๐ฉ๐ฆ With love,
